The Importance and Methods of ECAD/MCAD Collaboration

In current electro-mechanical designs, tight synchronization between the electrical and mechanical flows is required to ensure that both designs are correctly aligned for fabrication, ultimately decreasing design effort and time-to-market.

In this webinar we will explore the different ways that the electrical and mechanical design teams communicate design intent to each other.  We will investigate the capabilities of PADS 3D, and explore STEP, Intermediate Data Format (IDF) and DXF methods of information transfer between electrical and mechanical systems.  We will discuss how with the introduction of the ProSTEP iViP Incremental Data Exchange (IDX) communication protocol, designers are able to synchronize their data between both ECAD and MCAD.
